Overview

From November 7 to 10, 2025, Oberscheckenbach celebrated its Kirchweih as a "beautiful conclusion" to the Ohrenbach Kerwa series. On Friday evening, the volunteer fire brigade hosted the traditional Schlachtschüssel, on Sunday morning the festive church service took place in the St. Kilian Chapel, and on Monday evening the village community association took over with a pizza night. The mayor emphasized that the smallest municipality in the Ansbach district, with four Kirchweihen per year, expresses its rootedness – not out of sheer desire to celebrate, but out of awareness of its own traditions.

The 2025 Kerwa in Oberscheckenbach followed the established program: Schlachtschüssel from the fire brigade, festive service in the historic St. Kilian Chapel – picturesquely situated among trees – and a concluding pizza night by the village community association. The program was supplemented by the restored historic cattle scale as a cultural-historical exhibit and by the Kirchweih procession, revived in 2014. Despite its size – not even 150 inhabitants – the district maintained its firm place in Ohrenbach's festival calendar, worthy concluding the series of four Kirchweihen that characterize the smallest municipality in Middle Franconia.
