Overview

The Bartholomäus-Kirchweih Markt Erlbach 2025 was traditionally celebrated on the last weekend of August before St. Bartholomew's Day (August 24th). Over four days, the program was marked by the festival tent, parade, Bärenausjagen, and the famous Grafflmarkt on Kärwasonntag. As every year, the flea market with antiques and crafts in the town streets attracted thousands of visitors from the Neustadt a.d.Aisch-Bad Windsheim district and the wider Middle Franconian region.

The 2025 edition continued the Kärwa tradition: four days of festival tent operation with regional live music, a parade on Kärwasonntag, customs ranging from beer tapping to Bärenausjagen. The Grafflmarkt was, as every year, a crowd-puller, filling the streets of Markt Erlbach with stalls full of antiques, rustic furniture, traditional costumes, tools, and bric-a-brac.

The Markt Erlbach Kärwa remains a proven example of Franconian Kärwa culture — a mix of religious patronage (Bartholomew), folk customs (parade, Bärenausjagen), and commercial tradition (Grafflmarkt). The organizing forces are the local clubs and Kärwagesellschaften.
