Overview

The Leinburg Pentecost Kirchweih 2025 took place over the Pentecost weekend, gathering the village community for four festive days. Organized by the Kirwaverein Leinburg e.V., it was a classic Franconian Kirwa with a Kirwabaum, dances, a festival tent, and catering in the Nürnberger Land district, east of Nuremberg.

The 2025 edition followed the established four-day Kirwa tradition around Pentecost. The Kirwaverein Leinburg e.V. organized the festival with its usual dedication; the Kirwaboum and Kirwamadla erected the Kirwabaum and performed the traditional dances on Whit Monday.

The Pentecost Kirchweih holds a special place in Middle Franconia: it combines the Catholic Feast of the Holy Spirit with local traditional customs. In Leinburg, as in many other villages in the Nürnberger Land district, it is a central event of the year, bringing families back to their home village from afar.
