Overview

In 2025, the Kirchweih Kleinsendelbach was also celebrated in its traditional form. Festive church service in the St. Heinrich parish church, followed by a morning pint (Frühschoppen) and catering by the village community. The Kerwa of the small village in the Dormitz Administrative Association thus preserves Franconian traditional culture in its manageable, club-supported form.

The 2025 edition followed the established pattern over generations. The parish and the village community jointly organized the Kerwa – a practice that demonstrates the close connection between church life, village tradition, and club life in Franconian villages.

Kleinsendelbach, as a small municipality on the edge of Franconian Switzerland, is part of a dense Kerwa culture that shapes almost every village in the region between Forchheim, Erlangen, and Bayreuth. The St. Heinrich Kerwa is one of those festivals that derive their charm from the absence of pomp.
