Kirchweih Kirchehrenbach

The 2025 Kirwa followed the tried-and-tested Franconian format. The tradition of two annual Kirchweihen — the May Kirchweih as part of the Walberlafest and the August Kirchweih as the parish Kirchweih — was upheld by the municipality of Kirchehrenbach in 2025 as well. The August Kirwa, as always, attracted families from the entire Wiesenttal and hikers from the Walberla.

The Franconian customs surrounding the Kirwa tree (raising, Madla zamspilln, Betzn austanzen) are still much more alive in the Fränkische Schweiz than in many other Bavarian regions. Kirchehrenbach is one of those municipalities where the Kirwa tradition is passed down from generation to generation — the Kirwaboum from Kirchehrenbach are a well-known festival club in the Wiesenttal scene.
