Overview

The Kirchweih Buch Nuremberg 2025 took place, as every year, in mid-July in the Buch district in Nuremberg North. A festival tent, carousel, festival band, and Franconian festival catering provided several days of festivities at the Buch festival grounds. The unusual format with a mid-festival break has been a characteristic of the Bucher Kirwa for years.

The previous edition followed the proven district Kirwa concept: a carousel for the children, a festival tent with Franconian beer (Seidla) for the adults, a festival band playing folk music and cover versions. The Buch district Kirwa is one of over forty such small folk festivals held annually in the Nuremberg city area — and together they form Nuremberg's dense network of district Kirwas.

Unlike the large Nuremberg Folk Festival (Spring and Autumn Folk Festival on the Allersberger Tribünenwiese), which attracts tourists and visitors from outside the city, district Kirwas like the Bucher Kirwa are consistently local events — supported by the district, anchored in the district, and primarily attended by local residents.
