Overview

The Protestant Kirchweih Absberg 2025 was celebrated in mid-October in the town center. Four days of Franconian Kerwa tradition with Kirchweihbaum, festival tent, live music, and typical Franconian festival gastronomy. The event attracted visitors from the entire Brombachsee region and remained an important date in the local festival calendar.

In 2025, the Kerwa also followed the traditional pattern — Kirchweihbaum, beer tapping ceremony, festival tent program, festive church service, Kerwa winding down. The parallel existence of two Kirchweihen in Absberg (Protestant and Catholic) remains a Franconian specialty that has been preserved for decades.

The location on the Großer Brombachsee makes the event an attractive excursion destination even in October — the festival tent atmosphere combines well with a walk or bike ride along the autumnal lake shores.
