Edition 2025 — Kircherlkirchweih
In 2025, the Kircherlkirchweih on September 14th again attracted pilgrims and guests from the entire Regen district. The procession from Gehmannsberg to the Frauenbrünnl Chapel, the open-air service, and the subsequent Kircherlkirchweih festival in the Guntherschützen Gehmannsberg tent once again confirmed the strong roots of the pilgrimage in the popular piety of the Bavarian Forest.
The 2025 edition of the Kircherlkirchweih took place on September 14th – as traditionally on the second Sunday in September. The local associations accompanied the procession from Gehmannsberg to the Frauenbrünnl Chapel, where the open-air service was held. Afterwards, the festival guests returned to Gehmannsberg for the festival tent of the Guntherschützen.
Bavarian delicacies, regional beer, and live folk music characterized the festival day. The chapel itself, thanks to recent restoration investments (around €300,000), remains a vibrant pilgrimage site that attracts pilgrims year-round – the festival weekend itself is the highlight of the liturgical year around the Gunther-Kircherl.
