Overview

The Aachen Children's Costume Parade 2025 took place on Tulip Sunday at 11:11 AM through the city center. Around 100 floats and groups, led by the Fairy Tale Prince of the 2024/2025 season, characterized the event. The parade once again confirmed its status as a unique children's costume parade in Germany and part of the intangible UNESCO cultural heritage of Rhenish Carnival.

In 2025, the Kengerzoch still paraded on its own route, slightly shorter than the Rose Monday parade route, through the Aachen city center. With the route change in 2026, the organizing committee is responding to years of demands to equate the children's parade with the adult version.

Carnival as UNESCO cultural heritage (listed in Germany since 2014) has its own variant in Aachen with the Öcher Fastelovvend; the Kengerzoch is a central, identity-forming component of this — and an important moment for transmitting carnival tradition to the next generation.
