Overview

The Children's Festival in the DFG 2025 took place on Sunday, September 1, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Franco-German Garden Saarbrücken under the motto 'With Children's Rights into the Future!' — a colorful family day with dozens of hands-on stations, a UNICEF meadow, stage program, and free admission.

As every year, the state capital, the UNICEF working group, and the Friends of the Garden jointly organized the major Children's Festival. In summer weather, thousands of families from Saarbrücken, the entire Saarland, and neighboring Lorraine streamed through the DFG. Associations, schools, and initiatives from the region presented a program centered around children's rights and participation. The highlight, as usual, was the UNICEF meadow with a treasure hunt, crafting and painting activities, and the annual sustainable raffle.

Programme

The 2025 daily program included the classic mix of stage performances (dance groups, school choirs, theater groups), hands-on stations (creative workshops, games, sports), the UNICEF meadow, and numerous information booths from social organizations. Performances started every hour on the hour on various stages in the garden.
