Overview

The 25th anniversary edition of the European Children's and Young Adult Book Fair Saarbrücken celebrated a quarter-century of "Books Build Bridges" in 2025. Four days of readings, workshops, and encounters around the KuBa cultural center at Eurobahnhof.

With its 25th edition, the fair in 2025 looked back on 25 years of European children's and young adult literature. Readings, workshops, and the awarding of the German-French Youth Literature Prize formed the framework of a rich program. The book islands in the KuBa invited thousands of children and young people to browse, while school classes from all over Saarland and Lorraine visited the fair in the mornings, and families filled the Eurobahnhof quarter on weekends.

As every year, the exchange between German and French authors was at the center, with readings in both languages, translation workshops, and a program that highlighted the multilingualism of the Greater Region.

Programme

The 25th anniversary edition offered a dense program over the four festival days with readings, workshops, and the awarding of the German-French Youth Literature Prize. The focus was on authors from Germany, France, Belgium, and Luxembourg, multilingual readings, and writing workshops for children and young people at the KuBa cultural center.
