Kiel Bootshafensommer — Edition 2025

The 2025 edition continued the tradition established in 2009. Up to 40 bands were spread across the twelve concert days, with the program mixing established North German bands with Kiel newcomers and thematic focuses.

As always, the Bootshafensommer was open air and free of charge. The audience gathered on the quay edges, on the café terraces, and with their own picnics. In sunny weather, the raft stage became the summer living room of Kiel's city center; in case of rain, the program was adapted. The mix of urban space and waterfront makes the Bootshafensommer an event that cannot easily be replicated elsewhere — the Bootshafen with its yachts and the immediate city center as its backdrop are constitutive of the format.
