Edition 2025 — Backfischfest Ketsch
The 72nd edition of the Ketscher Backfischfest took place in early August 2025 in Ketsch am Rhein. Ten festival days with a festival tent, wine tavern, amusement park, and Backfisch specialty stands. Festival parade on Sunday, daily live music, Frühschoppen, family days, and closing fireworks. Over 150,000 visitors came as every year to the Rhenish-Hessian municipality — one of the most important Volksfeste in the Kurpfalz region.
Proven Festival Format
The 72nd edition in 2025 further solidified the decades-old Backfischfest format. With over 150,000 visitors, the festival is comparable in scale to other important Volksfeste in the Kurpfalz (Schwetzinger Spargelfest, Frankenthaler Strohhutfest, Mannheimer Fasnachtsmarkt) — and a remarkable tourist attraction for a community of 13,000 inhabitants.
The positive feedback and the continuity of the association's organization have led the Ketscher Backfischfest e.V. to continue the 73rd edition in 2026 with the same structure. The Backfisch stands, festival tent concerts, and the festival parade are the constant elements that maintain the festival's identity image over the years.
