Traditional autumn Kerwe in the Pfälzerwald with amusement rides, festival tent, and live music
The Kerwe Queidersbach is one of the most well-known autumn Kerwen in the west of the Kaiserslautern district. It dates back to the old Kirchweih tradition, which once celebrated the dedication day of the local parish church, and has evolved over generations into a multi-day village and family festival, running from Friday evening to Tuesday evening.
Queidersbach is located in the Sickinger Land on the edge of the Pfälzerwald, about 12 kilometers southwest of Kaiserslautern. The village is easily accessible via the L 363 state road and the nearby A 62 motorway and is part of the Landstuhl administrative district. The Kerwe grounds are centrally located in the village center, allowing visitors to easily reach the festival on foot from the parking lots on the outskirts.
Like many Westpfalz Kerwen, the Queidersbach Kerwe combines the character of a Volksfest with village sociability. During the day, the focus is on family attractions: carousels, candy stalls, candied almonds, crêpes, a bouncy castle, and smaller amusement rides delight the children. In the evening, live music in the festival tent, the cocktail bar run by local clubs, and the typical Palatinate festival tent cuisine featuring Schwenker (grilled meat skewers), Bratwurst (sausages), fries, Saumagen (pork stomach specialty), and Dampfnudeln (sweet steamed dumplings) take center stage.
As is common throughout the Palatinate, the Kerwe is largely supported by local clubs. The sports club, fire department, music association, and local carnival societies share the catering, setup and dismantling, and the supporting program. The proceeds flow back into the clubs' activities, making every visit to the Kerwe a contribution to village life.
Queidersbach can be reached by bus from Kaiserslautern (lines 174 and 176). By car, the village can be reached via the A 62 (Bann/Queidersbach exit). Accommodation is available in the surrounding communities of Landstuhl, Bann, and Kaiserslautern, from where the Kerwe can be reached in just a few minutes.
The 2026 edition will span the third weekend of October and include the long Tuesday as the traditional closing day of the Kerwe. The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in late summer. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years:
