Overview

The Kerwa Marktschorgast 2025 took place on the last weekend of July with the proven 3-day format. Festivities on Saturday, church service and parade on Sunday, Kerwa Monday for winding down. Franconian delicacies, live music, and the Patron Saint's Service in St. Jakobus the Elder formed the framework — a down-to-earth Upper Franconian Kirchweih on the edge of the Fichtelgebirge.

In 2025, the Kerwa once again brought together the residents of the market town and guests from surrounding communities in the festival area. Local associations provided catering, and the parish handled the religious part with the Patron Saint's Service. The parade on Sunday afternoon, featuring traditional costume groups, music bands, and associations, characterized the town's appearance.

The Kerwa Marktschorgast remains an example of down-to-earth Franconian Kirchweih culture, which cultivates its own identity beyond the large Volksfest industry — supported by the commitment of local associations and the bond between the parish, the market town, and the population.
