Mimberg village square.

Kärwa Mimberg 2025

At the end of August / beginning of September 2025, the Kärwaboum and Kärwamadla, along with the entire village of Mimberg, celebrated their traditional Kärwa again – as the conclusion of an entire Kirchweih season for the Burgthann districts (Burgthann itself in June, followed by Grub, Schwarzenbach, Oberferrieden, Ezelsdorf, Unterferrieden, and finally Mimberg).

2025 Program

The festival tent opened on Friday evening with the mayor tapping the keg. On Saturday morning, the Kärwaboum erected the Kärwabaum on the village square using muscle power – arguably the most photographed event of the festival. The following day featured the Kärwa parade, and in the evening, live music in the festival tent. Sunday included the festival church service and Frühschoppen, followed by the ceremonial dancing around the Kärwabaum. Franconian specialties – Bratwürste, Schäufele, Pressack, candied almonds – were served in the tent. The convivial end of the festival with the symbolic burial of the Kärwa concluded the entire season.
