Overview

In 2025, the Potato Festival at the Museum KulturLand Ries once again drew families from the Nördlinger Ries and surrounding districts to Maihingen. Six hours of festivities at the monastery courtyard with harvesting machinery, hands-on stations, and potato treats.

The 31st edition in 2025 followed the proven concept: Harvest festival on Sunday from 11 AM to 5 PM, demonstrations of historical harvesting machinery, potato treats in the museum kitchen, hands-on stations for children, and a regional market in the monastery courtyard. As always, the event was organized by the Museum KulturLand Ries of the Swabia district.

Each year in September, the festival format establishes the museum as a meeting point for the rural region of the Nördlinger Ries and for families who want to show their children the agricultural background of a staple food.
