Overview

The last edition before 2026 took place on June 29, 2024 — with a focus on Brazil as the finale of the "I Festival Alemanha Brasil" by the Karlsruhe University of Music. The classic music-to-go concept with locations spread across Karlsruhe city centre: Students and professors from the University of Music performed in shops, churches, the Badische Landesbibliothek, public squares, and tram stops. Held every two years, the next edition accordingly in 2026.

The 2024 edition focused on Brazilian music — as a result of the university's internal "I Festival Alemanha Brasil". The classic mix of locations with a special genre focus: Bossa Nova, Samba, Choro, Brazilian song, and a roving samba-batucada group that paraded through Karlsruhe's Kaiserstraße. Alongside this, the usual programme of classical chamber music in churches and shops, big band jazz on the Marktplatz, small opera and Lied performances at the Badische Landesbibliothek, and at tram stops. Free admission as always, with a positive reception from Karlsruhe's city centre residents and the KIT university audience. The biennial frequency was maintained — the next regular edition thus on June 27, 2026.
