Overview
The 55th Kamenzer Lessing-Tage 2025 started in mid-January and continued into spring. Program with readings, lectures, theater performances, and concerts around Lessing's birthday (January 22). In 2025, the renovation of the Lessing Museum also began, with groundbreaking in May.
2025 Preview Edition — Before Museum Renovation
The 55th edition in 2025 marked the last festival before the actual renovation phase of the Lessing Museum. Readings, theater performances, concerts, and the traditional school program still took place partly in the museum; with the groundbreaking for the extension building on May 19, 2025, the construction phase began. The 56th edition in 2026 will be the first festival to be held entirely at alternative venues — a challenge that the festival also uses as an opportunity for creative program design.
