Edition 2025 — John Cage Klangwechsel
The most recent preceding Klangwechsel of the John Cage Organ Art Project took place on August 5, 2024. The Klangwechsel occur at irregular intervals — sometimes with years in between, sometimes in shorter sequences. The 17th Klangwechsel in 2026 follows this series.
In 2025, the project celebrated its 24th year of performance — from September 5, 2001, John Cage's 89th birthday, to the present day, an uninterrupted performance. The 16 previous Klangwechsel have advanced the piece in its first 4%. The next Klangwechsel will be extensively prepared and internationally communicated by the project team.
