Overview

The seventh edition of Jazzwoche Berlin took place in June 2025, once again bringing together around 90 concerts in more than 40 Berlin venues. The festival confirmed its role as a central platform for the Berlin jazz scene, uniting the industry, audience, and musicians under one roof for a week.

Jazzwoche 2025 continued the festival format established in 2019: city-wide concerts, decentralized venues, a curated opening concert, and parallel discourse events. In 2025, the program again bundled performances from the entire spectrum of the Berlin scene – from traditional mainstream jazz to contemporary improvised music and electronic and transcultural hybrid forms.

As in previous years, the seventh edition played a central role in the scene's self-organization. IG Jazz Berlin used the festival window to draw attention to the working and funding conditions of freelance jazz musicians in Berlin and held industry discussions with politicians and funding institutions.
