Overview

The 32nd International Animation Film Festival Stuttgart took place in spring 2025. Several hundred animation films from around the world, the traditional open-air cinema at Schlossplatz, competitions in the city center cinemas, and the parallel FMX conference once again made Stuttgart the European animation hotspot for a week. Up to €90,000 in prize money, several Oscar-qualifying competitions.

ITFS 2025

The 32nd edition of the International Animation Film Festival Stuttgart in 2025 once again offered six festival days with a curated animation film program in Stuttgart's city center cinemas and a free open-air cinema at Schlossplatz. Hundreds of films from around the world – short films, feature-length animated films, children's film programs, AniMovie family section, Young Animation for students – formed the festival's repertoire.

The industry events FMX (Conference on Animation, Effects, Games and Immersive Media) and Animation Production Day ran in parallel, making Stuttgart once again Europe's most important animation meeting point for a week. Up to €90,000 in prize money, an engaging event for both the public and industry professionals – a successful year that set the stage for 2026 with the focus on Lotte Reiniger and silhouette animation.
