Edition 2025 — Isny Theatre Festival
The 2025 edition of the Isny Theatre Festival took place in early August in the circus tent at Burkwang in the old town. Nine days of contemporary circus, theatre, music, and spoken word — a proven format that has established itself over the years as a firm fixture in the Southern German festival landscape. Workshops ran parallel to the performance programme.
2025 Festival Format
The 2025 edition followed the established dramaturgy: nine days at Burkwang, a mix of contemporary circus, concerts, theatre, and workshops. The circus tent has been the festival's identity marker for years — a unique format that clearly distinguishes the Isny Theatre Festival from purely urban festivals.
The combination of international programming (circus companies from France and Italy, musicians from around the world) and the small-town Allgäu setting has cultivated a loyal audience from Southern Germany and Switzerland over the years. The 2026 edition continues this concept without structural breaks.
