Edition 2025 — Förde-Crossing
The 28th edition of the Glücksburg Förde-Crossing took place in August 2025. Swimmers from Germany, Denmark, and other Baltic Sea rim countries crossed the 3-kilometer-wide Flensburg Fjord from Sønderhav, Denmark, to Glücksburg.
The 28th edition in 2025 continued the tradition of the cross-border swimming event. With summer temperatures and favorable currents, participants reached the DLRG beach Sandwig after the 3-kilometer swimming course.
The DLRG Glücksburg, with hundreds of volunteers, organized the safety of the course and ensured that each swimmer had an escort boat. The feedback from participants and spectators once again confirmed the crossing's firm place in Northern Europe's open-water calendar.
