Overview
From September 18 to 22, 2024, the second edition of the International Choir Festival Magdeburg took place. For the first time since its premiere in 2022, the format was established as a recurring biennial festival. Around 4,000 active participants and visitors traveled to the city, with international choirs from Europe, North America, and Asia meeting regional ensembles from Saxony-Anhalt.
The artistic highlight was a world premiere in the Magdeburg Cathedral – a commissioned composition for soloists, choir, organ, and orchestra. In addition, there was a competition, friendship concerts, and the Long Night of Choirs.
