Overview

The Bach Festival Stuttgart 2025 took place in March 2025 at Stuttgart venues (Liederhalle, Stiftskirche, Johanneskirche, Matthäuskirche, HMDK). The festival presented concerts over two weeks with international Bach ensembles, the Junge Stuttgarter Bach Ensemble, and chamber music highlights. The International Bach Academy Stuttgart once again confirmed its reputation as a central institution for the cultivation of Bach in Southern Germany.

The 2025 Bachfest was the 44th edition of the renowned festival by the International Bach Academy Stuttgart. Over two weeks, a dense programme was spread across the most important churches and concert halls in Stuttgart's city centre. The Junge Stuttgarter Bach Ensemble (JSB), with musicians from over 20 nations, was once again the focal point of the festival's philosophy — young talents and established international stars in a shared dialogue about Bach. International guest ensembles, as well as public rehearsal formats, lectures, and chamber music encounters, rounded off the season. As in previous years, the patrons were the Minister-President and the Mayor of Stuttgart.
