Edition 2025 — Independent Days
The 24th edition of Independent Days took place in mid-April 2025 at the SCHAUBURG Karlsruhe and in parallel at the XR Area of the Badische Landesbibliothek. A five-day festival featuring feature films, short films, medium-length films, documentaries, workshops, masterclasses, and an awards ceremony. One of the most prominent indie film festivals in Southern Germany and a forum for non-Western indie productions.
Established Indie Film Festival
The 24th edition of Independent Days in 2025 confirmed the festival's program direction: SCHAUBURG as the main cinema, XR Area at the Badische Landesbibliothek as an experimental platform, and a broad selection from international submissions with a special focus on non-Western indie productions.
The continuous development — from its founding in 2001 to the 24th edition in 2025 — is evident in its growing international network, its dense industry program (Speed Dating, Masterclasses, AI Talks), and the increasing participation in the XR Area. The 25th-anniversary edition in 2026 will continue and expand these directions.
