Overview

The 58th edition of the Hoyerswerda Music Festival took place in April and May 2025. Four weeks of concerts with 13 main concerts and three school concerts at seven venues — the unbroken tradition of the oldest concert series in the Lausitz region amidst the structural changes of the region.

The 2025 edition confirmed the festival's status as the most important concert series in the Lausitz region. The opening concert at the Lausitzhalle featured the Hoyerswerda Symphony Orchestra e.V. under varying direction, chamber concerts at St. John's Church (Johanneskirche), crossover projects between classical and jazz, Sorbian music, and three school concerts for young talent promotion. The festival once again enjoyed broad support from the citizenry and regional sponsors, thrilling around 450 listeners with the opening concert at the Lausitzhalle.
