A Kirmes for Holzhausen
Compared to the large Oeseder Großkirmes, the Holzhauser Kirmes is significantly more compact and focuses on the Holzhausen district along Sutthauser Straße. This gives the festival its special character: neighborly, manageable, and ideal for an extended family afternoon. The showmen's rides are spread along Sutthauser Straße and its adjacent areas; classic rides, food stalls, and game booths form the framework.
Four Days of Festivities in September
The festival traditionally opens on Friday, followed by Saturday and Sunday as the main days, and a quieter Monday with family attractions. The special position of the Holzhauser Kirmes lies in the fact that it takes place before the Oeseder Großkirmes, thus marking the start of the grand Kirmes season in the southern Osnabrück region. Those who wish to visit both fairs will have two opportunities in September to experience the autumnal Volksfest atmosphere in Georgsmarienhütte.
