Overview

The 37th Hohnstein Puppet Theatre Festival 2025 brought around 20 puppet theatre groups from all over Germany to Hohnstein in Saxon Switzerland. At the castle, in the Max Jacob Theatre, and at other venues, they gave about 50 performances, from marionette fairy tales for the little ones to satirical puppet theatre for adults.

37th Edition 2025

In early summer 2025, the 37th edition of the Hohnstein Puppet Theatre Festival took place. As every year since 1986, the festival brought around 20 puppet theatre groups from all over Germany to the small town at the entrance to Saxon Switzerland. Over the weekend, they gave about 50 performances at several venues — at the castle, in the Max Jacob Theatre, in the town hall courtyard, and in the town church.

As usual, visitors could freely choose between the programs, new shows began every half and full hour, and during intermissions, live music and children's activities created a great atmosphere. The event once again attracted around 2,500 to 3,000 spectators.
