Review of the 34th Höhlerfest 2025
The Höhlerfest 2025 took place in Gera's old town. From October 3 to 5, the city center once again transformed into a huge festival mile, attracting numerous visitors from all over Eastern Thuringia and beyond.
Opening and Parade
On Friday, October 3, 788 bell tolls from the town hall tower at 1:15 PM and 788 fanfares from the balcony of the Kultur- und Kongresszentrum at 1:45 PM marked the opening — symbolically for the 788 years of Gera's town charter. At 2 PM, the official opening followed with the tapping of the first beer keg. On Saturday, the historical parade by the Höhlerverein marched through the city center to the Kornmarkt starting at 4:15 PM.
Highlights and Program 2025
The rock band SILLY and numerous regional acts performed on the stages. Families found their own program in the medieval camp on the Kornmarkt and on the children's meadow. The Köstritzer Bierstange was awarded to personalities of the city. The Geraer Höhler beneath the old town were open and could be visited. Free admission.
