Edition 2025 — Wiesenfest Hohenberg
In 2025, Hohenberg a.d.Eger also celebrated its traditional Wiesenfest on the third weekend of July. The historical Margrave Play and the grand procession were, as every year, the highlight of the homeland festival.
The Hohenberger Wiesenfest 2025 took place on the third weekend of July, following the tried and tested tradition of almost 200 years. On Sunday, schoolchildren from the Schirnding-Hohenberg primary school reenacted the Margrave's visit of 1663 in magnificent historical costumes, followed by a colorful procession through the town. Deliberately without modern amusement rides, with school plays, club performances, and the cross-border encounter with the partner municipality Libá, the festival confirmed its reputation as one of the oldest and most atmospheric Wiesenfeste in Northern Bavaria.
