Overview
The 13th Flechtkulturlauf was held in June 2025 with start and finish at Lichtenfels Market Square. Hundreds of runners and walkers from Upper Franconia ran along the Path of Basket Weaving Culture through Lichtenfels, Michelau, and Schney. In parallel, the Lichtenfels Wine Festival attracted spectators to the Market Square.
The 13th edition of the Volkslauf (popular run) on the Obermain confirmed the event's success as Lichtenfels' most important sporting city festival. As every year, runners from the entire Lichtenfels district as well as neighboring districts of Kronach, Coburg, Kulmbach, and Bamberg participated.
The team competition with company, school, and club teams is one of the race's hallmarks and creates a special atmosphere at the start and on the Market Square.
