Overview

The 2025 season of the Monk Processions Berg Oybin took place on several evenings between May and September. The Cölestinerchor and guest ensembles brought medieval choral sounds to life in the nightly illuminated castle and monastery ruins — the torchlight procession of the Celestinian monks provided the emotional start each evening.

Monk Processions Season 2025

Throughout the summer months of 2025, lovers of ancient music gathered several times on Berg Oybin for the traditional Monk Processions. The unusual blend of staged torchlight procession, medieval vocal music, and the dramatic backdrop of the monastery ruins offered a concert experience unique in Saxony.

The 2025 performances built anticipation for the 2026 season with an expanded program and guest choirs from Poland and the Czech Republic — the location of the mountain directly on the tri-border area makes such collaborations logical.
