Overview
2025 Review
The 2025 Historic Christmas Market followed the proven concept of the Altstadtverein: opening on Friday afternoon with mulled wine service, a full Saturday with a brass choir, barrel organ player, and stilt walkers among the stalls, and Sunday with a family programme and the auction of the gingerbread house at midday.
The selection of arts and crafts and culinary stalls ranged from classic mulled wine and roasted almonds to potato pancakes and sausages, and crêpes from the CVJM stand. The illuminated facade of the Erlöserkirche provided the usual atmospheric backdrop for photo memories.
As in previous years, the market attracted visitors from the entire Märkischer Kreis and the neighbouring Sauerland region. The atmosphere of the narrow old town alleys with their half-timbered facades is considered the most atmospheric Advent setting in Südwestfalen.
