Herring Festival Altefähr

The Heringsfest Altefähr 2025 gathered locals and guests on Thursday, May 1st, at the beach promenade of the island municipality of Rügen. The clubs and associations of Altefähr were once again the organizers.

The program included homemade herring salad, grilled fish, and other regional specialties at several stalls. Live music, amusement rides, and activities for the whole family provided a colorful supporting program. The Weiße Flotte Stralsund offered special trips between Altefähr and Stralsund for the occasion. The Herring Festival was part of the Rügen Herring Weeks, which celebrated the season opening on the Baltic Sea in spring 2025.
