Overview

In 2025, the HERKULES Children's Culture Summer once again brought thousands of Herne children and their families into motion. Over eleven weeks, the city, city library, museums, and music schools organized more than 100 free events. The HERKULES Festival in Schlosspark Strünkede formed the summer's highlight.

The 2025 HERKULES program maintained its established formula: over 100 free events for children aged 2 to 12 over eleven weeks, coordinated by the Herne City Cultural Office. Main partners included the City Library, Emschertal Museum, Youth Art School, and Music School, and LWL Museum. The HERKULES Festival in Schlosspark Strünkede provided the grand summer highlight with hands-on stations and a stage program. Cultural participation for all — the hallmark of the concept.
