Traditional autumn fair with apple market in the Schaumburg district town
When autumn colours the trees and the apple harvest reaches its peak, the season of the Herbstkrammarkt begins in Stadthagen. From Friday to Tuesday, the festival grounds on Enzer Straße are bustling with activity. Showmen from all over the region set up their rides, from traditional swing boats to modern high-tech attractions. The aroma of bratwurst, roasted almonds, and cotton candy fills the air, while music from loudspeakers creates a festive atmosphere.
Parallel to the Krammarkt, the Apfelmarkt in Stadthagen's town center invites you to explore the regional diversity of fruit. Fruit growers from the Schaumburg region present old and new apple varieties, freshly pressed apple juice, apple cider, apple cake, and various baked goods featuring the popular autumn fruit. The market offers an opportunity to talk to the producers and promote awareness of regional agriculture.
The extended opening hours from Friday to Tuesday invite multiple visits. While the fair is open until 11 PM on Friday and Saturday, the stalls close earlier on Sundays and weekdays. This ensures that every visitor group – families with children, young people, older guests – finds their perfect time to visit.
Stadthagen's historic town center, with its half-timbered houses, the town hall, and the St. Martini Church, presents itself in autumnal splendor in October. The Herbstkrammarkt adds a festive touch in the pre-Christmas season and forms a convivial highlight in the annual calendar of the Schaumburg district town.
On the Enzer Straße festival grounds, showmen from all over Northern Germany present a colorful mix of modern and nostalgic rides. The program includes carousels for children, thrill rides for the daring, skill games, candy stalls, and a diverse gastronomic offer.
In the historic city center, regional fruit growers showcase old and rare apple varieties. Direct marketers offer freshly pressed apple juice, cider, apple cake, and other local fruit products.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in spring 2026. The structure follows the proven highlights of previous years:
