Overview

The 31st hella Hamburg Half Marathon 2025 gathered a large field of runners, "with much prestige and renown," as the organizer himself put it. Again 24,000 runners, the same route from the Reeperbahn start via the harbor and the Außenalster to the Messegelände, the same Hamburg atmosphere.

The 31st edition in 2025 confirmed the firm position of the hella Hamburg Half Marathon as one of the three largest German half marathons. The organizer BMS Die Laufgesellschaft spoke of the "greatest hella Hamburg Half Marathon of all time" — the international elite, ambitious hobby runners, and Hamburg club runners met on the Reeperbahn.

As every year, live music, DJs, samba groups, and cheering zones accompanied the 21.1 kilometers. The Außenalster kilometers from mile 15 have always been the emotional highlight — those who can still run here are carried along by the crowd.
