Overview

The 29th Heimat- und Trachtenfest 2025 once again brought thousands of visitors to the Wendish village of Dissen-Striesow. Farmers' Day, the festival parade, a Sorbian-Wendish stage program, and Hahnrupfen – the established structure of the festival was implemented with the usual commitment from the village community.

The Heimat- und Trachtenfest 2025 continued the tradition, offering the usual program over two days, including an opening ceremony, Farmers' Day with historical agricultural machinery, a festival parade, and a Sorbian-Wendish stage program.

The festival is considered one of the most important events for the preservation of Wendish culture in Lower Lusatia and is organized primarily by the tourism association Burg (Spreewald) in cooperation with the municipality of Dissen-Striesow.
