Overview
In 2025, the Heimat- und Strandfest once again attracted thousands of visitors to the half-timbered town on the Fulda. The mix of city festival atmosphere, Schlosspark romance, and fireworks spectacle on the river has proven successful for decades.
Classic Heimatfest format on the first weekend in July with all traditional elements: amusement rides, 20,000-lights illumination in the Schlosspark, parade, boat parade, fireworks, and disco tent.
The proven format has shaped the festival for years and brings audiences from the region as well as from neighboring federal states to the town. The annual edition contributes to Hesse's fixed festival calendar and is supported voluntarily by local clubs, associations, and helpers.
