59th Heidefest of the Harpendorf-Düpe marksmen's club (Schützenverein) from 1965 on the Schützenplatz Lönsweg 7 in the Steinfeld districts
The Heidefest Harpendorf-Düpe will be celebrated in 2026 as the 59th edition. This continuous club tradition since 1965 documents the festival's sustainable anchoring in the village community and the event calendar of the municipality of Steinfeld in Oldenburg. The Harpendorf-Düpe marksmen's club (Schützenverein) from 1965 e.V. has been organizing the festival since its inception.
The two villages of Harpendorf and Düpe are districts of the municipality of Steinfeld in Oldenburg and are located in the southern part of the municipal area in a landscape characterized by heathlands, forests, and small bodies of water. This natural feature gives the festival its name and emphasizes the local and nature-connected character of the club celebration.
The festival backdrop is the Schützenplatz at Lönsweg 7. The street name Lönsweg refers to the Lower Saxon regional poet Hermann Löns, who has literarily shaped the Lüneburg Heath and the heath landscapes of northwestern Germany – a fitting connection for a Heidefest. The grounds feature a festival tent, shooting range, club building, and parking spaces for arriving friendly clubs.
The festival weekend is spread over three days: Saturday, June 27th Opening and dance evening, Sunday, June 28th Festival parade, king's shooting, and king's proclamation, Monday, June 29th Brunch and relaxed conclusion. Friendly clubs – including the Holdorf music association – will participate in the festival parade.
The detailed program for 2026 with times for individual program items will be published on heidefest.net and in the local press. The schedule follows the proven three-day Heidefest tradition.
