Advent Market in a Weser Renaissance Ambiance

Hameln's Old Town is famous for its Weser Renaissance architecture — magnificent half-timbered and stone houses built between the 16th and 17th centuries. This backdrop makes the Christmas market one of the most atmospheric Advent markets in Northern Germany.

Over 60 Stalls

Over 60 stalls gather in the Old Town, offering Advent decorations, handmade gifts, jewelry, toys, Christmas baubles, mulled wine, punch, bratwurst, crêpes, potato pancakes, almonds, and gingerbread. The variety of offerings makes visiting the market a multi-hour experience.

Festive Ferris Wheel and Reindeer Express

A festively illuminated Ferris wheel offers a unique view of the illuminated Old Town. A reindeer express winds its way through the market and is a particular attraction for younger visitors. An Alpine chalet in Scandinavian style completes the market scene.

The market runs from November 23 to December 23, 2026, and again from December 27 to 30, 2026 (market between the years). Opening hours are Mon-Thu 10 AM-8 PM, Fri-Sat 10 AM-10 PM, Sun 11 AM-8 PM. Closed December 24-26.

Highlight of Hameln's Advent Offerings

Along with Mystica Hamelin in March, the Pflasterfest in August, and the Wine Festival in July, the Christmas market is a fourth highlight in Hameln's event calendar and the most important reason for tourists to travel to Hameln in the pre-Christmas period.
