Overview

The 18th edition of the Hamburger Krimifestival once again gathered around 40 crime authors at Kampnagel. Readings, workshop discussions, and panels characterized the festival days – a continuous manifestation of the genre in a city often reduced to fiction and poetry in literary terms.

2025 Review

In 2025, the festival also ran for five days at Kampnagel. The alliance of Heymann, Hamburger Abendblatt, and Literaturhaus Hamburg organized a dense program with top authors from Germany (Fitzek, Neuhaus, Kutscher), Scandinavia, and the English-speaking world. Workshop discussions on the writing process, panels on true crime, and research methods complemented the classic readings.

In the Hamburg-Nord borough, Kampnagel is the central venue for theater, performance, and literature – the Krimifestival is one of the most popular programs in the house's annual calendar.
