Overview
The 50th Hamburger Ballett-Tage in 2025 celebrated the festival's half-century. They were also the last edition fully under the direction of John Neumeier, who retired after 50 years as ballet director. Featuring a dense program of repertoire works and a юбилей gala night.
The 2025 anniversary edition offered a cross-section of five decades of Neumeier choreography. The range extended from early works to late pieces, complemented by guest performances and a special gala night for the 50th anniversary.
The transition into 2026 marks a historic turning point: after 50 years, John Neumeier is handing over the artistic direction of the Hamburg Ballet. The 51st edition in 2026 is therefore also the beginning of a new era at one of Europe's most important ballet companies.
