Hamburger Architektur Sommer

2025 was a year between the 10th edition (2023) and the 11th edition (2026), and thus an official interim year without a festival. The Hamburg Chamber of Architects used this time for program development, sponsor acquisition, and the curation of the 11th edition – particularly for conceptualizing the opening theme "Nichts Neues – Besser Bauen mit Bestand" (Nothing New – Better Building with Existing Structures).

Outside the festival, the HAK's year-round event activities continued in 2025 as usual – with the Day of Architecture (always at the end of June), building awards, student competitions, and expert lectures. This continuous outreach work provides the foundation upon which the Architektur Sommer finds its concentrated festival form every three to four years in the state of Hamburg.
