Overview

The 836th Hamburg Port Anniversary took place from May 9th to 11th, 2025, along the Elbe riverbank between St. Pauli and Baumwall. As usual, there was an arrival parade, tugboat ballet, "Elbe in Concert" fireworks (two evenings), departure parade, and over ten free concert stages. Opening service in St. Michaelis. Over 1 million visitors.

The 836th edition in 2025 offered the usual program. Despite the changeable May weather, the Port Anniversary once again attracted over a million visitors to Hamburg's Elbe riverbanks. The arrival parade brought over 250 ships into the harbor, the tugboat ballet delighted the crowd in front of the Landungsbrücken on Saturday afternoon, and the "Elbe in Concert" fireworks were shown on both evenings.

In the Hamburg-Mitte district and throughout the state of Hamburg, the Port Anniversary is by far the central identity event of the spring. In 2025, its tradition was once again confirmed – a festival that not only celebrates the city but also renews its self-narrative as a global port city year after year.
