Edition 2025 — Hamburg Latin Festival
The Hamburg Latin Festival 2025 took place in July 2025 on Amerigo-Vespucci-Platz in HafenCity. A one-day free festival with Salsa, Bachata, Cumbia, and Reggaeton, dance workshops, and Latin American street food. Organized by Roberto Cano as part of the elbsommer series.
The 2025 edition confirmed the format as an established part of Hamburg's intercultural summer series. The HafenCity location once again proved to be the ideal backdrop: an open square with harbor views, ample space for stalls, and good public transport connections.
Hamburg's Latin American diaspora – smaller than in Munich or Berlin, but active and networked – contributed to the festival with numerous stall operators, musicians, and dance instructors. The general Hamburg public filled the square and gladly participated in the dance workshops.
