Edition 2025 — Hallia Venezia

The 27th edition of Hallia Venezia took place in February 2025 in Schwäbisch Hall — eight days before Rose Monday. Around 150 mask wearers paraded silently and with dignity through the old town alleys, with the main parade at 2 p.m. on the Great Steps of St. Michael's Church accompanied by Vivaldi, and a concluding parade at the Froschgrabentreppe. The event is now considered the most significant Venetian-influenced Carnival in Germany.

Proven Format Since 1998

The 27th edition in 2025 further solidified the format of Hallia Venezia. The mix of silent, dignified presentation and visual splendor is what clearly distinguishes the event from Rhenish and southern German Carnival traditions. Mask wearers from Germany, Italy, and France come every year — many with costumes created through months of personal effort.

The city of Schwäbisch Hall and Hallia Venezia e.V. have been organizing the event with the same dramaturgy for years; the format is so strong that the only variables are the exact date (eight days before Rose Monday) and the weather conditions. According to the association, 2025 was a successful year; the market square was full at peak times, and the atmosphere was described as "magical" by the local press.
