Traditional Hahnrupfen of the Werben Youth

The Hahnrupfen 2025 in Werben (Wjerbno) followed the traditional sequence: riders in white shirts gathered at the Old School, proceeded in a festive procession through the village to the meadow by the sports hall, and then competed in riding under the rooster. The winners were crowned 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Harvest Kings, with riders adorned with oak leaf wreaths. Werben thus once again joined the series of Sorbian harvest festivals in Lower Lusatia – alongside Drachhausen, Burg, Papitz, and other villages that have maintained the Hahnrupfen for generations.
